What should my child bring?

  • A backpack that your child can carry, with a chest clip in the front

  • A hearty variety of snacks: we sit for two snack breaks together but encourage children to eat and drink whenever they feel their body needs it

  • A small water bottle that your child can easily drink from without much help

  • A sturdy little mug for warm tea, in the chillier seasons

  • A tiny bottle of hand sanitizer, a small pack of tissues or wet wipes is also helpful, but teachers bring it too!

  • Extra socks, just in case

  • Two pairs of mittens and a warm hat in the cooler months

  • A sun-shielding hat in the summer

Labeling loose items is very handy both for educators and for little ones as they are learning the independence in recognizing and taking care of their personal belongings.
